Where on (Google) Earth #182

Well, I actually won WoGE #181 that Tuff Cookie posted on Magma Cum Laude a few weeks back and have finally found a spot of my own to post. In the image below, North is up and the eye altitude is around 40 km. If you click the image, you will see a little bit more of it. It is a cool place located between...oh wait...I am not supposed to say. Here's one hint: some intriguing geomorphic stuff happened here once upon a time. Yep. That's my hint. To win the round, post the correct latitude and longitude of the image center in the comments below along with a place name or two and and at least some commentary about what geological phenomena are likely to have initiated my posting. The winner gets to host the next round, or choose the location and ask someone else to host it if they're not a blogger.

And yes, I feel I must invoke the Schott Rule because I suspect that Ron has the earth mapped too well in his subconscious mind for an even playing field at this point. This means you have to wait one hour after the post time to answer for each WoGE round you've one in the past. Good luck!
